God’s Blessings Continue!
If you would like to give to the Remodel Campaign we are looking to complete other areas in the original scope of work (29 year old building). these are areas that were left out originally to be good stewards of god’s resources. At the annual meeting the members decided to complete those areas as the donations came in. If God is blessing you then consider passing that blessing along to complete this project.
We are currently at 100+% of the goal!
The Birth
When this body - Faith Evangelical Free Church - was birthed through a home Bible Study in 1979, the desire was to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord in this community. Teach His word. Share real community. Be a light in the Northwoods. From the first official building next to Torpy Park, to the current facility including the Gym and Classroom addition, this passion has grown stronger. We’ve outgrown parts of the building, and the world has changed. We remain a body with a strong mix of all ages and backgrounds - with different needs.
Known on earth
Psalm 67 reminds us of our mission -
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, Selah
that your ways may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.
Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!
Moving Ahead
On September 24th, 2023, our congregation voted to approve moving ahead with the Remodel Campaign, with construction to begin in the spring of 2024. A team has been working on this project since 2019, though it took a pause during Covid. This work will provide the following:
Improved building use; 50-60 more sanctuary seats
Portico - safety for seniors, families, those with disabilities
Secure door / entry
Welcoming aspect increased
Improved traffic flow from sanctuary to fellowship hall
New flooring - in much of building as it is 25 years old
Generosity and Funding
God has blessed our people, and our finances. This church is known for its generosity. We stand with our Pastors and Staff, missionaries around the world, and the community in various ways including benevolence needs. Councils, Teams and Staff are stewarding resources well – and we are debt free. As of the end of October, almost $580,000 is in our capital improvements fund, and an additional $237,000 in general. We believe God would have us use these resources to do kingdom work.
Also on September 24th, 2023, the congregation formally approved a Remodel Campaign of up to $720,000, with funding to come in 3 ways:
$360,000 (or 50%) from capital improvement funds on hand
$180,000 (or 25%) from an anonymous challenge gift
$180,000 (final 25%) from fundraising
Over $37,000 has been raised as of early November, We are at over 100% of the goal
The body has been challenged to hear from God on their part in this. A faith commitment campaign has been presented to raise the remaining funds.
My Part
Believing II Corinthians 9:7, “Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver,” we do hereby ask all members and regular attendees to ask the Lord:
What would You have Me do?
How to Give or make a Faith Commitment
With that prayer prayed, we ask you to consider one or more of these time frames:
Give now online or by check with “Remodel Campaign” in the memo.
Make a faith commitment to give $ _____ by December 31st.
Make a faith commitment to give $ _____ by March 31st.
Faith Commitment Cards will be placed in boxes and available at the Welcome Desk. Goal is to receive cards in November.
As always, feel free to reach out to an Elder – please take a moment to look at their photos in the hallway across from the offices and printer.
